Alhaji Idris Ichalla Wada is a distinguished aviation expert and seasoned
businessman with over
25 years of top-level management experience in the aviation industry across Nigeria
and the United Kingdom.
A graduate of Business Administration (BSc) and holder of an MBA from the University
of Abuja,
Captain Wada is recognized for his exceptional leadership and operational
expertise.
His illustrious career began in 1973 at the Nigerian College of Aviation
Technology (NCAT), Zaria,
where he became a Flight Instructor at just 23 years old. He joined Nigeria Airways
in 1978,
rising to the position of “Captain-in-Command” before transitioning to United Air
Service in 1983
as Chief Pilot and General Manager. His entrepreneurial journey took off in 1985
when he founded
Executive Aviation Services (EAS) Nigeria Limited, initially a cargo airline,
which evolved into EAS Airline Ltd in 1993, offering executive charter and passenger
services.
By 2006, following a merger with NICON Insurance, EAS transformed into NICON
Airways,
where Captain Wada served as Executive Vice Chairman.
Captain Wada’s international exposure extends beyond aviation, encompassing
interests in technology,
finance, and construction. His leadership credentials are further underscored by his
tenure as the
Executive Governor of Kogi State, where he demonstrated a commitment to impactful
governance.
His extensive network and international
connections solidify his reputation as a visionary leader in both the public and
private sectors.
